Retro-soul outfit Bonneville have shared ‘On the One’, the fifth single from their forthcoming third album, Hold for Room Tone, arriving ahead of the full record’s release later this year. Recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the track embraces the band’s love of classic soul and funk while introducing another chapter in their evolving sound.
Built around an infectious rhythm and vintage-inspired groove, ‘On the One’ draws inspiration from a period of personal change for vocalist Wes McGee, who wrote the song while preparing to become a father. The result is an upbeat celebration of fresh beginnings, delivered with the warmth and energy that has become synonymous with the band’s music.
The single also features an appearance from acclaimed drummer Bernard Purdie, whose unmistakable feel helped shape the final recording.
