Texas-based alternative-pop artist Isaac Saenz has unveiled his latest EP, This Should Hurt More, a four-track release exploring heartbreak, emotional reflection and unresolved personal experiences.
Produced and mixed with Vincent Ernst of Magnolia Park and Emerson Vernan, the EP brings together pop-punk, alternative rock and electronic influences across ‘LOST IT’, ‘Holly!’, ‘Hell’ and ‘SINS’.
Opening track ‘LOST IT’ reflects on a breakup from 2019, combining melodic guitars with atmospheric vocal harmonies.
‘Holly!’, featuring Joshua Rock, delivers a more energetic pop-punk sound, while ‘Hell’ introduces trap-influenced percussion and ‘SINS’ incorporates heavier, metal-inspired guitar arrangements.
Discussing the project, Saenz explains that the songs developed from revisiting difficult experiences and confronting emotions that remained long after the events themselves.
Several tracks originated years before the EP’s completion, including ‘Holly!’, which Saenz and Rock initially wrote during college.
Since launching his musical career in 2021, Saenz has accumulated over two million Spotify streams and performed at the Grammy Museum.
