Lex Bucha looks to a new chapter with ‘Faithless (Sacrifice)’

Dublin singer-songwriter Lex Bucha returns with new single ‘Faithless (Sacrifice)’, serving as the first introduction to a new EP due later this year.

Produced by Liam Geddes, the track follows his 2025 debut EP Painless Mode but shifts the perspective of his songwriting. While that release dealt largely with anxiety and family conflict, ‘Faithless (Sacrifice)’ explores the decision to distance yourself from people and institutions that have caused harm.

The song draws directly from his own experiences growing up within the Church and later facing rejection because of his sexuality. He describes the track as being about choosing to stop living according to other people’s expectations and instead following his own path, using religious ideas of good and evil as part of that wider examination.

Musically, it also introduces a more confrontational side to Bucha’s atmospheric indie-pop approach, which takes influence from artists including Sombr, The Weeknd and Lauv.

Having begun releasing his own material in 2024, Bucha has since received airplay from BBC Introducing, RTÉ Pulse, Today FM and SPIN, alongside writing for other European artists. ‘Faithless (Sacrifice)’ now provides an early indication of the themes and direction he will explore on his forthcoming EP.
