Independent composer and songwriter 17AD dives into beautifully immersive territory with ‘WATER’, a cinematic new single centred around healing, renewal and finding calm within life’s turbulence.
Written and composed by Abez David, the artist behind 17AD, the track unfolds with an almost weightless quality. A glowing synth motif flows through its centre as warm pads and strings gradually expand around crisp percussion, while Kelina Mary Bruce’s whispering vocals drift through the production like another atmospheric texture.
Programmer and arranger Nithin Martian helps give ‘WATER’ its enveloping foundations, creating a soundscape that moves between New Age experimentation, ambient electronica and cinematic composition. Mixing and mastering from Spatial Mastering adds further depth to its immersive character.
Thematically, the track treats water as both a physical necessity and a symbol of restoration. For 17AD, it represents something capable of washing away mental and physical pain while reconnecting us with life itself.
Following April’s ‘HALF OF ME’, ‘WATER’ feels like another significant creative leap. Serene, poetic and wonderfully transportive, it’s the sound of 17AD transforming introspection into an entire world of its own.
