New York outfit Tripping Jupiter have released an observation of global chaos with a political bite with the new single ‘This Fuss’. They blend an infectious, sing-along chorus melody with pointed commentary, glossy synth textures with words on power and inequality.
With warm, fuzzy synths providing a layered, rich and thick atmosphere, relaxed but punchy drums underline the lead vocal as it sways through the verse. The chorus is broader, with more synthesised shine and multiple voices delivering the top line. As we progress, the soundscape continues to snowball, with more bright melodies, percussion and a grooving bass line. With its electronic haze, theatricality and sharp lyricism, on the surface the track is a catchy tune, beneath its frustrations packaged and ready for revolution.
Vocalist and keyboard player Madstone Rowan explains, “I see a whole lot of people frustrated with mega-capitalism on steroids; pissed at oligarchs and how they negatively affect our lives. I see it on social media daily. People are struggling, and people are pissed. So my song is an attempt to describe the chaos in the world that we are seeing in a playful, poetic way and give people a catchy, pop anthem to hang that anger onto. Because it’s lyrically a little humorous, I think I get away with it.”
The release of the single comes at a time of renewed momentum for 2026, working with Grammy-nominated and platinum record producers to deliver the experimental alt-pop/art-rock sound.
