Shervin Boloorian embraces compassion on ‘Pure Hearts’

Iranian-American artist Shervin Boloorian has shared his new peace anthem ‘Pure Hearts’. With it, he brings a timely reflection on love and compassion with themes that are universal, from personal struggles to global conflict.

The political sentiment is framed within an idea of free will and dignity, delivered initially through a softened string and piano backdrop and poetic delivery, then through an emotional climax of impassioned melodies and atmospheric intentions.

Shervin summarises his thoughts on the current tensions, “The relationship between nations, much like personal relationships, can become defined by force, resistance, and the need to dominate. But ending conflict, whether between people or countries, requires something else entirely. It asks for compassion, dignity, and the honouring of free will.”

Shervin, now based in Bali, is a former US-Iran policy advisor, leaving DC to start a career as a music and voice therapist in 2009. Performing in both Persian and English, his dual identity provides an important voice in these times.
