Saachisen explores identity through sci-fi-inspired alt-pop on ‘The Girl That Was Made Of Antimatter’

London-based artist Saachisen continues to carve out a distinctive space within alternative pop with the release of ‘The Girl That Was Made Of Antimatter’, a thoughtful and atmospheric new single that combines science-fiction storytelling with emotional introspection.

Born in Mumbai and now based in London, Saachisen draws on an unusually diverse creative background, blending her experience as a songwriter and vocalist with a master’s degree in electronic engineering. The result is a track that feels both imaginative and deeply personal, using the language of science fiction to explore themes of isolation, difference and self-understanding.

Produced alongside long-time collaborator Dave Leondi of the Abbey Road Institute, the song unfolds through understated piano melodies, elegant string arrangements and carefully layered electronic textures. Saachisen’s vocal performance moves between natural warmth and vocoder-treated passages, reinforcing the song’s balance between human emotion and futuristic ideas.

The single serves as the first chapter in a planned science-fiction-themed EP and represents another significant step forward for an artist whose career continues to gather momentum. Following a residency at London’s Roundhouse, performances at PRIDE events and the Indian Embassy in Berlin, support from BBC Introducing, and recognition as Best Emerging Artist at the Eastern Eye ACTAs, Saachisen is steadily establishing herself as one of the more distinctive voices emerging from the UK alternative scene.
