Patience Please ignite West London’s indie-rock pulse with ‘Miles Away’

Some bands are built for the backroom of a pub, while others sound like they’re already eyeing the festival main stage. West London trio Patience Please firmly belong to the latter category, and their new six-track debut EP ‘Miles Away’ makes that ambition impossible to ignore.

Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Ollie Palmer alongside lead guitarist Arthur Marriott and drummer Tommy Lane, the group have developed a sound that thrives on muscular guitar work colliding with irresistibly melodic songwriting. It’s a style that feels both gritty and instantly accessible, where distorted riffs and soaring choruses exist in perfect balance.

From the first moments of the EP, there’s a sense of urgency and momentum. The guitars roar with conviction, the drums push relentlessly forward, and Palmer’s voice cuts through the noise with striking clarity. The result is a collection of songs that feel both intimate and enormous, showcasing songwriting that thrives on shared energy.

And that live electricity is clearly a huge part of the band’s DNA. Since forming, the trio have steadily built a reputation across London’s venue circuit, evolving from playing to small groups of friends to packing out rooms across the city.

Previous releases and highlights of this EP, such as ‘Wasting Time’, ‘Miracle’, and ‘Pretend’ have already hinted at their potential, drawing attention from radio tastemakers and steadily growing their audience online. But this EP feels like the moment where everything aligns, offering a snapshot of a group fully stepping into their identity.

With a UK tour lined up for the year ahead, Patience Please seem poised for their biggest chapter yet. If these songs are any indication, their blend of emotional immediacy and explosive guitar energy is only the beginning.
