Frank Hannon, best known as the lead guitarist of hard rock legends TESLA, takes an unexpected left turn with his latest solo release “One More Time.” The instrumental track, out now, offers a vulnerable and quietly powerful preview of his upcoming album Reflections, due September 12.
Far removed from the high-octane riffs fans might expect, “One More Time” is a spacious, slide guitar-driven piece that leans into melody over muscle. Recorded entirely on his phone using a single microphone, the track captures not just Hannon’s playing, but the room around it, the ambient creak of a chair, the gentle breath between phrases, the kind of imperfections that make it human.
There’s no grand production here. Just emotion, memory, and the sound of fingers moving across strings. Hannon’s tribute to Allman Brothers legend Dickey Betts—whose SG guitar he plays on the track, comes through not just in tone, but in feel. The phrasing is patient, lyrical, and unhurried, as though each note is a memory unfolding.
As Hannon prepares to release Reflections, fans are getting a glimpse of an artist reconnecting with the essence of why he plays: not for accolades, but for expression. “One More Time” is a reminder that sometimes, the quietest songs say the most.
