After years of carving out their space on stages across the UK and Europe, Bristol siblings Adam and Lawrence Purnell, collectively known as Foreign Affairs, announce a debut album that’s both personal and panoramic. ‘Brothers’ is a declaration of bond, belief, and the shared DNA that fuels their creative synergy.
Opening with the fiery ‘Walk Away’, the duo waste no time laying down the kind of blues-drenched rock that pulses with the urgency of their live show. Anchored by a swaggering guitar riff and a vocal delivery that smoulders with conviction, it’s the kind of track built to echo through festival fields and late-night venues alike.
Produced with Jonas Westling (whose work with pop heavyweights is felt in the album’s polish), ‘the record ‘Brothers’ doesn’t lose the intimacy that makes Foreign Affairs tick. It’s a collection that will walk the line between introspection and impact; songs that speak to heartbreak and hope, forged from years of shared growth, setbacks, and breakthroughs.
With support already rolling in from BBC tastemakers and tastemaking blogs alike, ‘Brothers’ is coming together like both a culmination and a new beginning. Foreign Affairs may have been on the scene for a while, but with this record, they’re stepping into something bigger.
