Kildare-born, Barcelona-based artist Elle León Gallagher returns with her sophomore album A Chara, out now via Catalan indie label El Jardí Amagat. Following the acclaim of her single Music & Memories, Gallagher continues her exploration of connection, memory, and belonging with a record that draws on indie soul-rock, folk textures, and tender lyrical introspection.
Named after the Irish for “dear friend,” A Chara was crafted over 18 months between rehearsal spaces, homes, and live sessions, preserving the warmth of its creation. Produced with Guille Harrison, the album captures the nuances of close relationships, both joyful and fractured.
Focus track ‘Going Places!’ pairs sardonic lyrics with cathartic energy, reflecting the disorientation of post-breakup identity and the pressure to “heal” in public. Fans of Angel Olsen, CMAT and Melody’s Echo Chamber will find plenty to love.
