Pittsburgh-based alternative rock band The Petals are back with their latest release, the four-track EP ‘Centurion’. The record blends danceable synths, intimate vocals, and a fusion of acoustic and electric rhythms. This EP marks a vibrant shift from the band’s previously sombre tones to a more colourful, modern texture.

Recorded and self-produced after their August 2023 tour, ‘Centurion’ highlights sharp drum rhythms, hazy synths, and layered guitars. The EP opens with ‘Roofwalker’, a firework display of programmed synths and processed vocals, before gliding into ‘Red Planet’, where cavernous guitars meet shimmering, synthetic soundscapes. The title track, ‘Centurion’, offers a memorable chorus and a laid-back energy, leading into ‘Another Rover’, which closes the EP with anthemic choruses and a culmination of the record’s tonal themes.

Whether it’s a late-night drive, a solo listening session, or a fireside gathering, ‘Centurion’ creates a space for reflection and movement alike. The EP is available on all major streaming platforms, and fans can also grab a limited run of cassette tapes featuring artwork by band member Daniel Grushecky, available through the band’s merch store.
