Berkshire alt-rock pair Black Prussia have shared a thundering take on Taylor Swift’s evergreen hit ‘Love Story’, reimagining what has become a pop classic with their personal, more heavy, crashing and swaggering sound.
Gritty and alternative with guitar parts that chug, fast and unstoppably through the chorus, drum parts that smack out into the atmosphere, and a punchy punk-tinged lead vocal, it becomes an anthem you want to chant along to. It slowly erupts louder and louder before a roaring guitar solo. Then, it settles, just for a moment, to make the final climax all the more blistering as we fly into the iconic key change.
Originally formed in 2017, but returning in their current form around three years ago, Black Prussia have found a sense of alternative edge paired with an inexorable charm. Made up of vocalist Tanaka Mapepa and guitarist Winston Alla, the south-east outfit has yet to disappoint.
