Eleven artist teams will receive cash awards and professional audio finishing, while a twelfth will record with Ibrahim Maalouf in Miami, under the selection plan for Beyond Music’s next album.
The Beyond Music Vol.5 open call is free to enter and welcomes professional musicians across genres. Beyond Music is inviting U.S. artists to join its international community and develop original songs with collaborators from different cultural backgrounds.
For the eleven selected collaborations outside the Grand Prize, the award is $1,000 per artist for teams of up to six. Larger teams will divide a maximum of $6,000 equally. Their recordings will receive professional mastering and mixing where required, and will appear on the internationally promoted album.
The Grand Prize follows a different format. That team will travel to Miami in March 2027 to develop and re-record its winning song with Maalouf as the official lead single and film a music video. A 30-minute performance at one of Montreux Jazz Festival Miami’s Jam Sessions is also included, alongside Maalouf and special guests. Beyond Music covers travel, accommodation, recording and video production costs.
Maalouf, the project’s Guest Artist & Curator, will choose all twelve collaborations. The two-time Grammy-nominated trumpeter, composer and producer will consider originality, musicality, emotional impact and the exchange between participating artists.
To enter, musicians must form a team of at least four registered Beyond Music members representing at least two cultural backgrounds. All songs must incorporate trumpet. Previously unreleased vocal and instrumental recordings are eligible, provided they meet a professional or semi-professional standard and contain no AI-generated material.
The organization does not require a commercial studio recording. Artists may join multiple collaborations, and teams may submit up to six songs.
Completed submissions are due November 23 at 9 a.m. CET, equivalent to 3 a.m. EST and midnight PST. Full submission and rights requirements are set out in the Conditions of Participation.
