Los Angeles-based dream-pop duo Bouquet has returned after ten years with the announcement of their long-awaited album, ‘Spellbreaker’. The duo- Carolyn Pennypacker Riggs, an acclaimed interdisciplinary artist, writer, and composer, and Max Foreman, a songwriter, producer, and head of music at Occidental College- craft a delicate sound, sitting somewhere between Broadcast’s hypnotic textures and the early dreamlike melodies of Beach House.
Leading the album’s unveiling is ‘Hold On’, a hushed yet potent anthem that balances plea and resolve, exploring the delicate tension of maintaining connections in uncertain times.
Praised as “romantic dream-pop perfection” by Gorilla vs. Bear and “a clean slice of pop minimalism” by KEXP, Bouquet have made their mark sharing stages with artists like TV on the Radio, Fiona Apple, Eileen Myles, Mt. Eerie, Amber Coffman, and Zola Jesus. Their past collaborations include working with renowned opera luminary and poet Douglas Kearney, further cementing their reputation as artists who blur the lines between music, poetry, and performance.
With ‘Spellbreaker’, Bouquet steps back into the light, offering a record that feels essential, a return that’s been years in the making.
