The Cornermen breathe new life into Irish folk with haunting new single ‘Stretched On Your Grave’

Blending the timeless beauty of traditional Irish folk with a remarkable commitment to community and compassion, The Cornermen deliver an emotionally captivating performance on their haunting new single ‘Stretched On Your Grave’.

Taken from their forthcoming ten-track album Tramps and Hawkers, the release showcases the five-piece’s extraordinary ability to capture the intimacy and authenticity of traditional Celtic music.

Opening with delicate strings and beautifully plucked acoustic guitars, the track unfolds through enchanting vocal melodies and expressive flute arrangements, creating a deeply atmospheric soundscape that feels both timeless and profoundly moving.

Formed in 2022 following an impromptu open-mic session at South Moreton Boxing Club, The Cornermen have developed into something far greater than a musical collective.

Alongside their growing reputation as live performers, the group operates a charitable initiative dedicated to men’s mental health and suicide prevention, having already raised sufficient funds to provide over 600 counselling sessions for men experiencing crisis.

With performances alongside Damien Dempsey and Ian Prowse already under their belt, the band continues to expand its reach, with a Dublin appearance at Vicar Street planned for next year.
