Ria Timkin has released her new five-track EP Favourite Child, ahead of a run of headline shows across the UK and Ireland.
Recorded and co-produced with Tom Wilding at Wildingsounds in Bristol, the EP combines alternative pop with electronic and cinematic elements, bringing together previous singles ‘Our Time’, ‘The Difference’ and ‘Slow Mo’.
Across the release, she explores different aspects of pursuing creative ambitions, including uncertainty, the search for approval and the process of developing greater confidence. The title track begins with church bells before gradually expanding into a more euphoric arrangement, while ‘War Zone’ introduces ’80s-influenced synths and a darker atmosphere.
Following the EP’s release, Ria Timkin will begin a five-date UK and Ireland tour in Manchester on September 22. She will then perform in Bristol on September 23 and London on September 25, before travelling to Ireland for shows in Dublin on October 11 and Belfast on October 16.
