The Carringtons have built much of their appeal around brevity, and ‘NOISE’ shows exactly why that approach works so well. At just two minutes long, the Quebec City outfit’s latest single wastes no time getting where it needs to go, packing swagger, hooks and abrasion into a compact blast of garage-punk energy.
The bassline does much of the heavy lifting early on, giving the track an infectious pulse while the drums keep everything pushing forward with real urgency. Around that foundation, the guitars arrive in sharp bursts, helping ‘NOISE’ feel lean and purposeful as it plays.
And that dynamic combination makes the song feel both immediate and slightly unruly. The vocals have enough grit to stop the hook from sounding too polished, while the rhythm section keeps the track firmly locked into something genuinely danceable.
As the first glimpse of forthcoming album The Reunion, ‘NOISE’ does exactly what an opening single should. It feels confident, concise and instantly recognisable, but also suggests the band are sharpening their formula rather than simply repeating it.
Fast, catchy and satisfyingly rough around the edges, ‘NOISE’ is a strong introduction to the band’s next chapter and proof that two minutes can be more than enough when every second lands.
