Los Angeles-based metal project Grihastha delivers ‘MACHiNE’, continuing to expand a sound that combines heavy guitar music with industrial production and philosophical themes.
Created by Grammy-nominated producer and multi-instrumentalist Nikhil Suresh, the project emerged during the pandemic and has steadily developed into an outlet for exploring questions around identity, consciousness and human behaviour through an experimental metal framework.
Built around layered percussion, shifting rhythms and dense electronic textures, ‘MACHiNE’ examines the moment when impulse begins to override rational thought. But rather than following a conventional song structure, the track mirrors that internal conflict through evolving arrangements and an atmosphere that feels both controlled and unpredictable.
The single underwent a lengthy development process, growing from an early riff into a more expansive composition shaped by live drums, industrial sound design and heavily processed rhythmic elements.
Drawing influence from artists across metal, electronic and funk music, Grihastha continues to occupy a space that feels difficult to categorise, prioritising ideas and atmosphere as much as sheer intensity.
