UK-based singer-songwriter leo. returns with what now?, a deeply personal five-track EP that captures the complexities of growing up, searching for direction and learning to embrace uncertainty.
Written across several years, the project brings together a collection of diary-like songs that reflect on identity, self-discovery and the often uncomfortable space between who we are and who we hope to become. Blending intimate lyricism with atmospheric indie-folk arrangements, what now? presents leo. at his most open and reflective to date.
Leading the release is ‘sweet silly sixteen’, a nostalgic and thoughtfully crafted track that looks back on youth with both affection and perspective. Written as a letter to a younger self, the song reflects on how difficult it can be to recognise meaningful moments while living through them, encouraging listeners to appreciate the beauty of the present before it slips into memory.
Created alongside collaborators Ed Allen and Nico Widdowson, the EP balances vulnerability with growing confidence, pairing cinematic songwriting with understated production. Accompanied by an ambitious series of visual pieces inspired by the project’s themes, what now? marks an important new chapter for leo., documenting a period of change while offering a hopeful perspective on the unknown.
