London songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Re Teu returns with the stunning new single ‘St. Brendan’, a rich and emotionally immersive folk-inspired release taken from the forthcoming EP Voyages.
Led by Emric John-Sawyer’s deep, resonant vocals and delicately layered acoustic instrumentation, the track gradually unfolds into something far more expansive and cinematic. Soft keys, restrained percussion and shimmering synth textures slowly build around the song’s intimate core, rewarding us with a breathtaking sense of emotional release and atmosphere.
Originally written in 2017 before being revisited years later, ‘St. Brendan’ reflects on love, distance and the painful process of letting go for the sake of something greater. Named after the patron saint of sailors, the track uses imagery of uncertain waters and drifting journeys as a metaphor for emotional transition and personal growth.
Known for blending introspective songwriting with warm folk textures, Re Teu has steadily built momentum through sold-out London performances and festival appearances across the UK. Support from BBC Radio 6 Music, DIY Magazine and Rough Trade has further highlighted the project’s growing reputation.
